Port Monitor. Declines in Baltic seaports in the first three quarters of 2020 – the impact of Covid-19 pandemic
In the period January-September 2020, top 10 Baltic ports handled 334.9 million tonnes of cargo and recorded an almost 7.5% decrease in total cargo throughput (-27 million tonnes of cargo). Three Russian ports, which are together responsible for over 47% of the total volumes of top 10 Baltic ports, experienced a 6% decrease comparing to the January-September 2019 period (the largest decrease was noticed in Port of Primorsk, -18%).
